AGM

Club Committee

Devizes Photography Club’s AGM was held on the 23rd of May, bringing an end to our season of weekly talks, demonstrations and competitions. After four and more years in their roles, we are sorry to see our chairman, Steve Hardman, and competition secretary, Dave Eagle step down. Dave Eagle took the club through the pandemic introducing us to zoom meetings and has done a fantastic job of keeping the club in touch and connected. Steve Hardman has led the club with calm resolve and a steady hand through a period of difficulty for many photography clubs.  Richard Atkinson proposed that Dave Eagle should be made a life member, which was voted in unanimously.

A number of resolutions were put forward, with amendments and amendments to the first amendments being proposed. After a little discussion, it was proposed that next year members will pay an amount at the beginning of the season, followed by a weekly amount on attendance, in the hope of making the treasurer’s job easier. Other resolutions concerned the removal of members connection with the Sports club, which no longer exists, and the addition of three officers to the committee, bringing the number to twelve. The last resolution was for no member of the committee to spend more than four years in a role, which was defeated.

After the election of the committee members, new and not so new, the awarding of trophies was held.

Once all the official business was concluded, the break provided an opportunity to celebrate two members birthdays, Dave Gray and Sue Wadman, so cakes were produced, with candles, for all to enjoy.
