Portraits Made Easy
Steve Haddon arrived with what appeared to be a small van load of equipment, including flash heads, reflectors, beauty dishes and variuos umbrellas, back drops and stands.
The first half of the talk covered Steve's professional work and he showed many of the images that he has taken over his career. One of his favorite types of portrait was dancers.
After the break , Barbara Jones, Ian Sims and Adrian Hopkinson all volunteered to be models. Steve Haddon demonstrated how to light the portraits using a single flash head coupled with a beauty dish or umbrella and then how positioning a reflector to the side of the model could be used to change the mood of the portrait.
Steve also explained how everyday items such as pringle tubes, egg poaching cups and kitchen foil could be utilised in in a home studio set up.
The meeting was well attended with over 30 members present in the Rugby Club. RJ
