Brendan Lovett - It all begins with an idea.

One of my favourite photos is of my eldest son and was taken back in the old days of film. What I like most about the photo is how he is completely absorbed with his snack. At the time I had a Minolta X700 and was quite happy just to get his right sock in focus (forgetting the camera wasn’t even level). I did all the processing in my darkroom from negative development to printing. My son now has the Minolta and does his own film development.

These days I have a Fujifilm X-T30 which is a pleasure to use with the straight out of camera film simulations.

And what would I not leave the house without? Extra camera batteries and a spare memory card. I have learnt by painful experience!
