Gloucester Tall Ships Among the confirmed tall ships are Phoenix, which recently featured in Ridley Scott’s blockbuster film Napoleon; Grayhound, which will be returning from the Caribbean with exotic cargo; Spirit of Falmouth, which will be sailed to Gloucester by retired Armed Forces veterans; and Irene, which has featured in films such as Pirates of the Caribbean and Alice Through The Looking Glass.
Tickets for this year’s event where you can choose between Sea Legs tickets, permitting access to the festival site and on board the famous tall ships, or a Land Lubbers ticket, for those who would like to access the festival site, but not board the ships.
Prices range from £8 - £19, and can be purchased from the Tall Ships website.
It maybe worth a visit tot he Sharpness Canal shortly after the ships leave. Photographically it will probably be very crowded in the centre of Gloucester. Parking is crowded in Gloucester so the Park & Ride is the best option.
PARK & RIDE
A park and ride service operates from Waterwells in Quedegley, very convenient from M5 junction 12 and the South. Waterwells Park and Ride (GL2 2AB) - Waterwells is situated to the South of Gloucester just off the A38 in Quedgeley, 1.8 miles from M5 junction 12. Waterwells is serviced by the 8 service by Stagecoach, single tickets available for £2.30 and concessionary fares apply from 9:30 am weekdays, and all day on weekends.
