A Wiltshire Thatcher – a Photographic Journey through Victorian Wessex - Exhibition and Lecture

The Exhibition features the image immortalised by Led Zeppelin IV Album Cover of a Wiltshire Thatcher and shows a Photographic journey Victorian Wessex and the Victorian Album of Earnest Howard Farmer (1856-1944) who because the first head of the School of Photography at the then newly renamed Polytechnic Regent street now part of the University of Westminster. The exhibition is from 6th April - 3rd November adults cost £6.50 over 65 £3.75. Opening times Monday to Saturday 10am - 5pm

A separate event is a lecture on 16th July 7 - 8.30 pm by Dr Michael Pritchard who will look at how photography evolved from its announcement in France and England 1839 to 1939. Dr Pritchard joined Christie’s auction house as a photography specialist then started a PhD on history of Photography and is a director for the Royal Photographic Society. Tickets £10 booking is essential.
