This female Kingfisher was taken in Bradford-on-Avon. It was at the town bridge sitting on the white railings. Graham saw it from the other side, moved across the bridge and took the shot.

Heidi says: ‘This is just a small selection of my father’s extensive range of tools. He has worked with wood all his life and you never know what you might find in one of those many boxes, which by the way he also made from an old Whitbread crate’.

Curious Dartford Warbler by Gerald Clarke

Gerald recalls: ‘The Dartford warbler was seen at Keyhaven reserve. I had been observing it for a few minutes, taking too many shots, and I thought this summed up the bird’s feelings, by saying ‘haven’t you finished yet’ ? I like that it is backlit and the gorse is balanced to frame the bird’.

Andy Writes ‘Adam Plaza Bridge links the Elizabeth line underground station to One Canada Square on Canary Wharf.  The colourful makeover, Captivated By Colour by Camille Walala was created for the first London Mural Festival in September 2020 and is a favourite with street photographers’

Penny says: ‘I just love Avocets. I think they are very graceful birds and this one reminded me of a ballet dancer in a tutu just as the wind caught its feathers. I already had quite a high shutter speed to capture any birds in flight at Slimbridge where this was taken so I was able to capture the moment’.

Twilight at Rialto Bridge Venice by Bridget Codrington

Bridget writes: ‘This image was taken on Rialto bridge in Venice last year. The bridge was crowded with people so there was no space to use a tripod, the camera was therefore resting on the bridge parapet for some time as long exposure shots to smooth out the water were taken. 

I had been planning this shot from the moment I booked a flight to Venice so was thrilled when it came to fruition’.

Caroline writes: ‘I took this image during a trip to Iceland in February 2022, we had several severe storms during the visit and this was taken shortly after the second one had passed. We left our accommodation on a working farm and photographed the building as the storm retreated back out to sea’.
