‘Odd Things’

This week the Devizes Photography Club had the pleasure of welcoming Diane Seddon ARPS, who gave a talk called ‘Odd Things’, on zoom.

After a brief explanation of how she got into photography, Dianne gave us a thorough break down of how to look at subject matter differently, and not be governed by convention, using PowerPoints and her own images. How to see things from unusual and different perspectives, and not be governed by what you expect to see. She encouraged us to challenge ourselves and try out as many techniques as possible, so when put on the spot, our knowledge of both the camera and the appropriate method, would help us take good images. Dianne gave multiple examples of how to be creative, let go convention, and not be afraid to photograph the unusual, to step out of our comfort zones.
