David writes: ‘Photographed in Botswana, July 23. A Female had caught and killed an Impala earlier in the day. She had spent several hours preparing the carcass ready for transportation to a tree top, her food larder. At the end of the day as the sun was going down I managed to photograph her in a shaft of sunlight’.

hotographed on the Chilkco river BC last year. What a wonderful experience to be metres away from an Apex predator, without any concerns for my own safety, as the bears are focused on filling their bellies with salmon in preparation for the coming winter.

Alan writes: ‘My image of the red Squirrel was taken at Shap Wells hotel nr Shap in Cumbria, the hotel’s woodland area is looked after by the Penrith Red Squirrel group and anybody can visit the woodland walks where you will have them running around you and feeding from the nut boxes put all around, I always take some unshelled hazelnuts so that they will stay and eat them. If they are shelled then run off and hide them... the image was with one of these nuts. It was sat there on this branch eating away when I took this image.

HC Church of San Vigilio By Robert Harvey

Robert Writes: This village church has one of the most photogenic locations in the Dolomites. I positioned myself so that the top of its spire was framed by peaks of the adjacent mountains.
